András Zalavári has been exploring the potentials of perspective and experimental imaging for a long time. His works on show as part of Inverse, a group exhibition organized at Kisterem in 2015 already engaged in this topic, namely the possibilities to manipulate linear and inverse (Byzantine) perspectives.

At his first solo exhibition organized in the gallery, Zalavári presents works that likewise do not follow the natural rules of perspective but instead focus on different elements of the principles of perception. Therefore, psychological phenomena become the central organizational principles of the image such as size and shape constancy.

In the exhibited works one can discover familiar spaces – Lake Balaton or a corridor of Keleti Railway Station – but using an algorithm created by the artist, the thousands of images are rearranged to form unique scenes.
